Garby

The increasing amount of waste is a big problem worldwide. Increasing recycling helps diminishing the amount of waste.

When recycling is learned at a young age, it becomes an internalized habit. It turns out though, that in daycare centers and schools, the separation of garbage for recycling is not very common and sometimes even non-existing.

Garbage bin GARBY teaches children in a fun and interactive way about separating different types of waste, recycling, and reuse.

Garby is aimed at children ages 2 to 8.

Shaped like a garbage truck, Garby contains five compartments for separating waste, represented by the colors of street containers. (which differ among countries, this one is meant for Germany, Spain, France, Portugal and Poland.)

The drawer for glass jars and bottles also serves as a container for waste that can still be reused.

The transparent bins, allowing you to see how much is being discarded, are covered by lids with holes, symbolizing the waste in each section and removable for easy cleaning.

Children can play and dispose of the trash easily, and thanks to the moveability children can be involved in the entire process.

Garby is made of FSC birch plywood with an eco-friendly HPL layer, recycled aluminum, recycled polypropilene and biobased EVA. Furthermore, under the circular economy directive, all the different parts should be able to be ordered separately.
