Drop

The supply of clean water is getting harder every time. Therefore the saving of water becomes more critical every day.

Drop is born out of frustration when washing your hands in public toilets. Most of these faucets try to save water in some way or another, be it a very thin jet of water, extremely low water pressure, lots of air bubbles or it stops after 2 seconds. In the end I always end up trying to rinse off the soap way longer than I would like to.

It is actually very illogical that the jet of water has such a small diameter. You tend to move your hands back and forth and from side to side under the water jet so the soap can be rinsed off from every part of your hands.

I looked at the movements most people make with their hands when they rinse them and they take on the form of a circle and a drop of water which was the inspiration for the shape of Drop.

When tested, DropĀ  saves about a quarter of the amount of water when cleaning your hands compared to a regular faucet.

Drop is an aerating faucet designed for public toilets in schools, hotels, airports, sport facilities etc. that saves water because hands can be washed quicker. A sensor turns the water on and off.
