2 circles

When I lived in Barcelona, one of my favorite places to relax was the cafe of the Maritime Museum. Looking out into the garden through the vast windows, with its fine iron structures and taking in the enormous arches of the ceiling, I got inspired by the boldness, yet elegance of the building. Lingering on the square and round forms of this magnificent place, I started working on the Two Circles Lamp.

The floor lamp has a smaller circle placed in front of a larger circle, referencing perspective, being small in a big space, and looking through the circles of a binocular. I didn’t want the lamp to interrupt the view too much, so the forms needed to be slim.

The table lamp emerged from the standing lamp. It has a smaller circle placed transversal inside a bigger circle. The light emitted when the dimmer is fully open is enough to be able to read, yet it gives a cozy ambiance.

2 circles is made from brass, powder coated aluminum and a concrete base and each circle has a led strip covered by a dark-grey diffuser.

The electrical wires descend through the hollow iron legs into the concrete foot, in which the power supply is positioned. Both the floor lamp as well as the table lamp have a dimmer.
