LEAFY

We used to live in a very old building in Barcelona, with a beautifully painted ceiling of the living room. Because of the high ceiling I was looking for a hanging lamp of at least 90 cm in diameter but I didn’t trust the old fixture to be able to hold a lot of weight. I also wanted the lamp to be easily taken with us in case we were going to move.

The solution to making a big, yet lightweight lamp that is easily taken apart, was found in lasercutting thin material. I was afraid that 3 mm plywood wood bend over time (turned out it didn’t) and started looking at other materials. I loved working with methacrylate but didn’t like bringing more plastic in the world. Then I discovered a 100% recycled and 100% recyclable methacrylate (Green Cast®).

Leafy can have either 12 or 6 arms.

Made from 100% recycled and 100% recyclable methacrylate (Green Cast®) or FSC plywood.
